What a trip! Talk about a rollercoaster. Up and down, in and out, crazy grades, beauty beyond imagining and two tired human beings. The last two hours were especially rough—why is it always the END that’s so rough? The roads were very bumpy, but a different kind of bone shuddering bumpy. The camper always worries us when it’s being tossed about like that. It took us 11 HOURS but we finally made it!! AND the slide out came out with no problem.

The site is beautiful! Tall pines throughout providing shade and privacy. Our chocks quickly leveled the gravel site and we have a corner site with a little hill providing more privacy. The only downside…but its significant, is the wifi is nonexistent. None. Happily, my cellular service is great so I can use my hotspot for telecommuting. My data is going to take a hit here.

My son, Bryant and his wife came by for a quick visit. It was wonderful seeing my baby boy, his wife, Brandee is adorable, and their pug puppy, Titan is a ball of energy. Apache didn’t quite know how to handle all those pin-like teeth and energy. Brandee, thankfully, brought dinner which was a delicious Chicken Alfredo. Yummmm…. We caught up, got a few pics, and once they went home, we promptly passed out.
The weekend was a whirlwind. Joe and I explored during the day on his bike and enjoyed dinner with the kids. Gig Harbor is a quaint little town just down the road. They were having a festival so we got to experience the local talent and an attempt to break the world record for paddle boarding (they failed miserably). We found something new, an Ice Cream Parlor that sells wine! Sign me up.
We went to Seattle where we enjoyed the Pike Fish Market and the Space Needle. I stocked up on my favorite loose tea in the market and Joe bought me some fresh flowers. We decided to stay the night and watch the football game at a nearby Irish Pup. We visited a dispensary (quite the experience) and then enjoyed walking the Seattle streets on a whole new level, so to speak.
Joe left last night to fly home for a week. I will spend that time catching up on work and seeing the kids when they can. Looking forward to some down time, chick flicks, and rest. See you soon! Joe, if you’re reading this—I sure do miss you. Take care of your momma and pops and then come home safely to me. Apache and I are waiting. XO
