Camp #24 Arizona Oasis RV Resort Site #126 Ehrenberg, Arizona

We had an easy trip to our next stop.  We passed Palm Springs wishing we could stop but moving on.  I am fascinated by windmills and was thrilled to see this .

Channeling more 70’s music, we entered Arizona with the winds picking up.  We’ll need to stay a few days to avoid the 40 mph winds predicted over the next few days.

This camp is not our favorite but serves it’s purpose.  It’s in the middle of NOWHERE and surrounded by desert as far as the eye can see.  The dust is everywhere on everything, including us and Apache.  lol

My face continues to swell and I have painful nerve pain throughout.  I tired to avoid the impact of our reduced coverage outside WV and got on my laptop before leaving Calif. for a Doctor on Demand office visit.  For only $75 I got to speak to a nurse practitioner who prescribed prednisone. She said I had no fever or drainage so no infection.  Boy was she wrong!!  Several days later, I developed another bump under my eye and had limited range of motion on that side of my face.  EEK.  After a night of crying with pain, Joe insisted we go to the doctor.  A quick call to our insurance suggested the ER since we have no Urgent Care Coverage–go shitty yet expensive insurance!!

We finally had a diagnosis:  Chronic Maxillary Sinusitis (even tho I’ve had zero symptoms before 8 days ago) and cellulitis.  Huh?  What is cellulitis? I have no dental problems so they think I may have had an insect bite near my nose which allowed Staph or Strep to enter.  It’s basically a deep tissue infection and it sux.  They gave me some IV antibiotics and I left feeling so much better.  They didn’t warn me that this night would be the worst yet–my face tripled in size and throbbed with nerve pain.  It was awful.

I rested the next day and was glad to see the antibiotics begin to work.  My face began to descend and along with that so did the pain.  Yeehaw!  I think this trip is beginning to kill us.  As Joe loaded his motorcycle that night, he pulled a muscle in his back.  Poor guy, it’s gonna be a long trip home for him.
