The drive presented a few challenges. Firstly, Interstate 90 needs lots of work AND they charge you to use it. And my WV folks, quit your bitching-cause…damn, we paid $47 to travel 262 miles on bumpy, please don’t turn our camper on it’s side, roads. Shame on you Ohio and Indiana!
This is a smaller, family owned campground. Not nearly as nice as the last but certainly well appointed. Heated pool, bath house, laundry, two ponds. We are in the front near the road with no shade and close quarters BUT it’s a nice, gravel level, with a cool lay out. We have a picnic table and fire ring with a concrete pad.
Set up was a challenge. Joe’s wench for his motorcycle was jacked up so we had to back it off his truck by hand—holy macaroni! We survived and later the camp maintenance fella helped us see that we are idiots and had it plugged in backwards.
Sewage must be emptied tomorrow. Please work, please work, please work.

Holy cow, what a beautiful day! 76 degrees with a cool breeze and sunny skies. I woke around 6:30a, worked a little and then posted my second blog. Have already received feedback that I need to post more pics. Am working on managing my battery life. Until then, get over it, Donnie :).
We rode the motorcycle, “Annie Sue”, to the Mill Pond Festival where I found lu la roe and Joe found the beer garden. We are back in the camper now listening to the one radio station cause we are both too tired to figure out our Fire Stick. Taking a nap soon and then Uber to BWW to watch McGregor/Mayweather fight.

We are still enjoying Indiana. We decided to stay a few extra days to get our bearings a bit and let me catch up at work. The wifi here is pretty good, tomorrow is my first meeting via video so keep your fingers crossed.
We drove the motorcycle down along Lake Michigan yesterday. Got stuck waiting for the draw bridge which then broke down (can a bridge “break down”?) so we found another route across and enjoyed Lake Shore Drive, stopping for lunch and a brewsky.
We visited The Old Lighthouse Museum which was a quirky, interesting place. The glass balls are called “Witches Balls” which were hung in windows to ward off witches–I thought they were beautiful. There was a Lincoln room which my grandson, Cohan, would’ve loved. To the right is Joe climbing into the Light itself–it’s a tiny staircase climbing into a tiny space. I had a small freak out and descended before even getting a pic.
We spent the evening back at the campsite. Joe used his Raider charcoal grill to make a yummy rib eye and boiled up some local sweet corn on our outdoor kitchen.

This morning I woke early (5a EST)–I wish I could turn my brain off sometimes…so I worked for several hours while Joe slept. It was nice watching the sun come up while drinking hot tea and clicking on the old laptop. I could get used to this!
Apache and I enjoyed our morning walk while Joe showered. Apache loves checking out each campsite for a possible child or dog with which to play. He would love to chase the ducks but we prefer not getting kicked out of the campground. He briefly lost his mind when we found a basketball, making a mental note to buy him one. After working a few more hours I jumped in the shower only to learn we have NO WATER. A panicked call to the office told us they have a water leak and expect to be out of water for at least two hours. Looks like it will be a “whore’s bath” for me. Sorry….my Gran called it that and if that sweet woman can use that phrase so can I. Later we plan to hit a winery, I hear these northern temps produce some amazing vintages. Woot woot! Until next time…

Here are a few more pics from our visit to Michigan City, Indiana. We head out tomorrow for a long jaunt to Wisconsin.

Yep, we had a flat. Note to self: when all of a sudden the door is wonky, CHECK THE TIRE! As we were packing up the NIGHT before leaving, Joe noticed the flat. At least the Good Sam Roadside Assistance helped us out. They came around 10:30 pm and fixed us up with a new tire. Couldn’t find the cause which is a little disconcerting.
Next is the ramp we had to get for our spoiled dog with an ACL injury–he’s healing nicely BTW. He got his stitches out and is beginning to bear weight on it.
Thought you might like to see our sewer set up. We’ve had two black tank dumps here, both without incident. Well, sort of. I now wear gloves–gross.
A shout out to my coworker, Becca, for hooking me up with Thirty-One. This lil bag is perfect to lug laundry to the machines which are not as nearby as I’d like. Getting more steps though!
Finally, a dive bar on Lake Michigan. It is three stories with an outside bar on each level. Super cool!
Lessons Learned & Quirky happenings:
- Camps so far have had weak water pressure, good for your seals and such but not so much when you shower. I am basically plastered against the wall under the drip twirling to get wet. Sorry to my coworkers that must endure my video image, understand I probably have tons of soap still in my hair.
- Our bathroom door no longer shuts securely. Not sure why. Joe and I now have no secrets and Apache thinks we are just gross.
- Working in an RV has its challenges. As soon as I get the space like I need it, it’s time to eat and I have to break it all down again. Also, there must be an issue with my ergonomics. My right shoulder is KILLING me. I’ve stocked up on Ben Gay and therma-pads but need a better solution. Am losing feeling in my right fingers. Anyone have a suggestion??

Have fun!!! Enjoying the pictures. Hahaha

Yes, they’re ours. They won’t fit underneath so we have to travel with them on the bed-ugh but totally worth it. They are the closest we have to a lazy boy on the road!
