Camp #11 Continued

I’ve had a few days to hang with Bryant and his little family. Also had a few adventures surviving without the hubs.

First of all, who decided that traffic circles are a good thing? The area around Gig Harbor has at least 8 of those suckers and several are back to back—it’s dizzying. It was on my first solo day, about a mile into my first venture out alone, that I realized I had not actually driven a car in five weeks. Wait. I looked up and saw this sign. Bam. Holy cow. I asked a local, later, and she said circles are SAFER. Well, they apparently didn’t research my ability to drive in those things. My record so far is three times around before finding the right exit and being in the correct lane at the same time.

Apache & I are finding our rhythm. He would say that I don’t get up early enough like daddy does. His most effective alarm clock is the vomit gag—yup, gets me right up. In my sleepy morning vision, I thought it was a real foot of some sort. Not sure where he got that particular toy. Hmmm.

Have loved being able to see Bryant. His little pup learned to sit while I was here. We went to a movie yesterday. Saw “It”. I have to say, we weren’t impressed. But the theater was awesome. My first time in a very comfortable lazy boy while in a theater.

Went by a local famer’s market and picked up some fresh vegetables.  Most nights I sit right here and FaceTime each night with Joe.  Three hours difference can make that a challenge sometimes.  Miss you honey!

This morning was for camper upkeep. The pine needles fall like crazy every day. The temps have been in the 60s during the day and the nights in the 40s so I’ve used more propane. We have two tanks and I’m a little worried about how much is left. I have zero experience in this area, another thing Joe took care of. So I “you-tubed” this morning and tried it. Boiling water and feel for the cold—that’s the level. Bingo! It worked! One is half full and the other is ¾ full. So I think I’m good. I’ll check it again tomorrow morning to see how much gets used a night. A little experiment is forming. lol

Tomorrow evening is a big deal. Bryant is being promoted to Corporal! Brandee and I get to participate in the ceremony. Check back for pics! I’m so excited.
