We said goodbye to Eugene with some fun and shenanigans.  I’m terrible at pool but still love to play it.  How else you gonna get better?  Joe was stripes.  Oh well.

Joe enjoying the backroads

We loved the coast so much we decided to head back for a little longer.  Seems we just can’t leave Oregon yet, this is our 4th stop.  Joe was determined to find a camp on the beach…

and boy did he succeed!  The view below is just steps from our camper.  It’s a public beach but the camp abuts it and is on private land.  It’s a very quiet beach and the weather is terrific for the next week.  Temps in the 60-70 during the day.

All the tent sites on the beach behind our camper were empty so we enjoyed a fire on the beach our first night.  That’s a first for both of us; private fire all to ourselves on the beach..

Apache has a thing for stones.

So we’re slightly obsessed with the beach and fires.

I was trying to take a pic of our trail to the beach. Apache found a patch of grass

Joe prepping the fire with fog creeping in. Kelp (or seawood of some sort) looking like sea monsters, late October. A prefect scene for a scary movie.

It’s not as cold as it looks, I’m dramatic.

Add a rock on your journey

I had to work the first day so Joe scoped out some sights then we went out for dinner and some more pinball–another new addiction for us.

We met our neighbors, retired police officers with their retired German Shepherd.  They live in Oregon and come to Coos Bay every year for a month.  He crabs and invited Joe to go with him.  So Joe is gonna go with him Saturday!  Since today was so beautiful and Joe will be gone tomorrow, I decided to play hooky and will work on the morrow.

We headed out on his motorcycle for a day packed with beautiful scenery and full of memories.
