Coos Bay, Crabbing

Yesterday was a foggy, misty, cool day.  Temps were in the 50s and the fog didn’t lift all day.  It was a great day to stay ensconced in the comfy camper and review quarterly reports and drink hot tea.  I took lots of breaks to walk Apache down the sleepy beach where he played with rocks and I was lulled by the hazy waves.  Nothing like it.  Wonderful day for me BUT Joe was the one who had an adventure today.

Our RV neighbor, Wayne, took Joe crabbing this morning.  They got back in the early afternoon and took the catch to an area the RV Park has where you can clean and boil the crabs.  Joe said it was a lot of work and he only threw up twice as the tiny boat rocked in the Pacific.  They caught the maximum of 24 and he insisted Joe take half!  Holy cow.  So for the $17 price of a 3 day crabbing license, we are now overrun in yummy fresh-as-you-can-get-em crabs.  Joe will pick them tomorrow as he watches the Raiders play (at 10a–still so weird) and then we will make us some crab cakes and crab salad and crab…..whatever else we can think up.
